There are many theories that attempt to explain the excellent leadership. The opening quotation is perhaps the most widely accepted foundation of excellence in leadership. If one expands beyond excellence for leadership, more generally, a careful examination of the various theoretical constructs reveals that they are constantly being developed both from the point of view of the leader or from that of those who follow.
If developed from the perspective of the leader, the theory emphasizes the traits and characteristics, strengths and weaknesses of the leader. Leadership excellence is primarily a product of leaders who have the most desired features and characteristics and to avoid the less desirable traits and characteristics.
If developed from the perspective of those who follow, the theory emphasizes the strategies and techniques that encourage leadership and maximize the strengths and individual talents of those who follow. Leadership excellence is primarily a product of leaders who are able to realize the full promise of excellence and skill of those who follow.
Careful attention to these seemingly opposing perspectives that are not quickly reveals different perspectives. Rather, the second is a simple extension of the first. Excellence leaders are leaders who have traits and characteristics that motivate those who follow to fully participate and contribute to the joint venture.
Behavior Leadership combines then with the thought processes associated with that support and focus on the perspective. For managers who believe that excellence in leadership depends primarily on personal characteristics and the characteristics, strengths and weaknesses, the thinking focuses on how personal and more specifically manifest those traits and characteristics thought to be associated with 'excellence in leadership.

On the one hand, the responses and associated directives are defined in terms of traits and characteristics of the head. On the other hand, the answers and the guidelines in terms of factors and conditions related to the performance of followers and associated strategies and techniques to optimize these factors and conditions.
Increase leadership excellence is therefore thought to depend on or improve the performance of the leader or increase the participation and commitment of followers. Although both approaches are separately productive, the theory of leadership has shifted to combine approaches. Current theory postulates that excellence, leadership is best achieved when the leader focuses on maximizing personal leadership traits and characteristics, while simultaneously implementing strategies and techniques to increase the participation and commitment of followers.
Given this dichotomous understanding of leadership excellence as it applies to decision-making process is instructive. How decisions are made and who makes them? At one extreme, the decision-making is autocratic. The leader has absolute authority and makes all the decisions. He (or she) can ask others for advice, information and ideas, giving the impression of participation. However, the leader decides. The quality of decisions depends solely on the judgment of the leader.
The opposite extreme is not the consent or some other type of group decision making, as you might think at first. Rather, the opposite extreme is chaos. All participants in the act of their business judgment and individual initiative. Although each participant takes all decisions in terms of the perceived interests of the company, and probably will not, the chaos that results is, at least, counterproductive.
If you look at the decision-making process with the autocracy at one extreme and the other chaos, excellence in leadership within a fairly narrow range between the extremes. If the leader moves too far toward autocracy, psychological theory suggests that followers will be alienated and functionally limited. Their performance will be less productive than it might otherwise be. Alternatively, if the leader moves too far toward chaos, sociological theory suggests that the company will become increasingly fragmented and dysfunctional.
Defining the limits of excellence in decision-making range is certainly open to debate and disagreement. Even so, the reality of the field is evident and the importance of thoughtful leaders working in the field is clear. The leaders of excellence do not move outside of the range to one of the two extremes.
One could debate the relative benefits of intentionally shifting leadership behavior toward one end of the field of excellence or the other. For example, it is better for the leader to be more or less autocratic autocratic? It 's better for leaders to defer to the judgment of most of followers or he (or she) not to defer to his followers? If the leader to delegate more decision-making responsibilities to followers or not?
The debatable aspects here not to resist, the leaders of excellence to maintain their leadership behavior within a relatively narrow range of actions and approaches. Exactly where they function in the acceptable range probably depends on the personality of individual leaders, individual strengths and skills, personal preferences, the specific circumstances and conditions, and a mix of other factors. Just as there is a wide excellence rather narrow compared to the decision-making process, there are areas of excellence acceptable to other aspects of the functioning leadership.
For example, the strategic planning for the company must proceed within fairly narrow limits. At one extreme, planning can be so conservative that there is no real change or growth over time. Alternatively, the schedule can be constrained so that the change becomes unsustainable and chaotic. The success depends on the ability of leaders to pursue strategic planning within the limits of excellence, although not likely that the success depends on the position of leader in the field of excellence.
Officers competent to understand and operate in excellence several intervals in relation to business success. Their level of competence is not related to where they work on any particular field of excellence. Rather, it is derived from their proven ability to continuously maintain their behavior and functioning within acceptable limits of excellence for all ranges simultaneously.
If leaders are judged in terms of current theoretical constructs, most people in positions of leadership are very successful. The reality is that, for the most part, the leaders do not remain within the ranges associated with business excellence that lead. Their styles and approaches vary significantly, but only vary within fairly narrow ranges. The apparent diversity is primarily a product of the industry's broadest of excellence, individual variations within and between fields, and the personality and individuality of the leaders .......

5 ways to test your level of Customer Service
Here are five ways in which you can test the level of customer service. This list is not exhaustive, but this should give a fair idea of how good you serve your customers.
You can easily fill orders through your inventory?
If you have excellent customer service, then you should easily be able to fill your customer orders. It should hold up well what your customers order and if you have the voice calling upon receiving the order. If you are almost always "Sold Out", then you can not serve customers in the best possible way.
In a business with a diverse number of products, if you can fill an order for about 95% of the time you are doing well. If you are a business that offers a single product, 100% normal fulfillment of orders (except orders abnormal) should be your goal.
You can deliver orders of your customers on time?
Another factor that should be measured to test the level of customer service is the efficiency of the service or how fast you are able to provide the product or service that was ordered. If you are almost always missing delivery dates destination, then the customer service of the supply chain needs major work.
You should calculate the percentage of customer orders that were delivered in time for the total number of customer orders. This calculation must be time limited. For example, to the total number of orders of a month, what percentage has been delivered on time? If there is that 95% of the time, customers receive their order to the designated delivery date, then your business is doing well.
You can successfully solve your customers' concerns?
For great customer service, you must meet the requirements of your customers and resolve their concerns. A simple test would be to measure the proportion of the number of customer requests that have been effectively solved by the total number of requests received from the customer.
You respond quickly to your customers' mail / e-mail and phone calls?
How fast you respond to customers is another tool to measure the level of customer service. If you are able to respond to your customers within 24 hours (less is better) to receive their call, correspondence or e-mail, then you are doing great.
Do not pass by your customers?
Finally, the customers themselves in a position to say whether it passes or not when it comes to meeting their needs. You can actually conduct a customer survey. The inquiry should focus on issues of customer service so you can gauge how well you are able to serve clients from the point of view of these customers .......

Should I invest in a franchise opportunity again?
Investing in a franchise is a great way to own your own business, be your own boss and achieve financial and personal goals. There are many franchises to choose from ranging from body repairs to the fitness center for hairdressing salons. Some of them are well known so they are not. Some have been around forever and some are just starting out. Choosing which franchise is one of the most difficult decisions for potential franchisees. One of the biggest questions is whether they should invest in a new franchise opportunity, which has not been around for a long time or who are just beginning to franchise.
Deciding to invest in a franchise is usually a great way for people to own their own business safely. The franchises have a much better shot at successful business from scratch in their first five years. This means that early years are quite critical. Usually a franchise is more successful because they have already opened it before somewhere else, have a system that works and offers support to new franchise owners. No one starting a business from scratch has these benefits.

Should you work for You (Five questions to ask)?
While working for someone else, have you ever thought, I wish I could be my own boss. Then I would not have had to deal with this!
Perhaps the question is not whether you thought, but how many times.
Choose to be an entrepreneur may be the smartest move you've ever done. Or it could be the greatest disaster. Running your own business is like being paid a commission straight. As Bruce Williams, host of finance-oriented Bruce Williams Show, the nation's longest talk show radio says, the worst job in the world are straight commission sales. It works best in the world are straight commission sales.
Early in my career, I had two opportunities to self-employment. One was a mistake, the other was a success.
The bust came after a work experience overwhelming. Has not complied with the management of the company or the way they treated their employees (especially me). With little fanfare, one day I walked into my boss and announced (rather foolishly), I quit!
Since I had no immediate prospects for another job, I decided to buy me a position. I hastily arranged for the purchase of a franchise.
I plunked down $ 4,000 for training, equipment and rights to sell a product in a given geographical territory. I quickly discovered that running a business consists of much more than the receipts deposited in the bank every day.
To begin with, I discovered that the clever name I chose for my company had already been claimed by another company. When requested, the company has expressed little interest in changing its name to welcome me. Since then, however, had already ordered reams of promotional material that bears my name.
Since I was trying to solve other problems of start-up, I had neither the time nor the desire to sell my product - another critical error. I did not want to start pitching the business until I got my act together. I never just seemed to get to that point.
Meanwhile, the franchise company went out of business (no wonder his accountant looked so grumpy when I asked questions about the operation). My bankruptcy looming around the corner until a previous (but not the most recent) employer heard of my situation and has called me to offer my old job.
Undeterred, several years later, I chose to work for me again. Wiser now, I limited my risk by choosing a part-time opportunities - providing musical entertainment for weddings and corporate parties - and sought advice from an experienced friend in the record (yes, this was the first time the CD) before I started and developed a business plan.
This time, instead of paying a franchise fee, I did about the same initial investment in equipment I need. Then I promoted my business manager of each hotel and banquet in the city. A catering manager has taken a liking to me (because I had sent handwritten notes) and, to my regular job required me to move to another state, our 13 years of association was mutually beneficial.
The activity was successful, with my wife and I perform as a team in over 400 events in that period of time. We got an hourly rate that rivaled the salaries of vice-presidents (many doubled on New Years Eve) and senior experience on the job rarely been matched since. It has helped serve as the basis for my language and career training. The excitement and satisfaction gained from several hundred guests standing applause of approval for a job well done is indescribable. As so often happens in the office?
A survey showed that 97% of Americans is better to work for someone else. (Have you ever wondered how the numbers are calculated like this?)
To determine whether you'd be better off in a minority of 3%, ask yourself these five questions:
1) Can I provide a value added product or service is sufficiently different from current offerings on the market? This is known as the Unique Selling Proposition (USP). All businesses and even those of us who work for someone else is needed to determine our USP staff.
2) Do I have adequate capital to start-up and operation to last me six months to a year? Things always take longer than we expect. The lack of cash flow is the number one reason most businesses fail.
3) I can conveniently reach my target market? Sales and marketing consume 50 percent of the typical organization time, effort and money. Certainly do not think the old adage, if you build a better mousetrap, the world will beat a path to your door. Maybe yes, but first they must know.
4) I do not have the passion and personality to go it alone? As an entrepreneur, you probably wear many hats, at least initially, including receptionists, sales, IT guru, accountant, tax advisor custodian, administrative assistant, human resources specialist, director of marketing, customer service, and Operations Manager. Wow! It can be lonely without much of a support staff with whom to bounce ideas.
5) It would be a competitor or other outside influence that can force me under? A difference of forty or fifty years ago, the world of retailing, for example, is dominated by big box stores. What niche is currently being served under that one could profitably serve? Do not try to create a product or a service for all, Seth Godin tells us in his best-selling book Purple Cow marketing, because this is a product or service to anyone.
If you can answer these five questions correctly and decides to go ahead anyway, the decision could cost you your life savings.
