Ethical Search Engine Optimization Services: Are You unintentionally Search Engine Spamming?
Many people who have websites are not fully up to date with what is considered spamming the search engine. After working for the optimization of search engines for a few clients, I came across websites that use spam techniques to help improve the positioning in search engines. When I confronted the customers of this, I honestly did not know they were using a form of spam or are aware of the consequences if found by search engines.
So what is search engine spam? A simple definition would be deliberately designing web pages that offer content poor and irrelevant, and are used to trick search engines into ranking the content highly inappropriate search results.
People tend to use spam as a way to attract many visitors to their website. If you are caught by search engines, this will result in a major setback for business. Web sites will be blacklisted by search engines and the chances are that will not appear in the index for a very long time.
Not sure if you are spamming? Below are some common forms of spam techniques that you should avoid.
Doorway pages - Optimizing a single web page to perform exceptionally well in the ranks of search engines for a group of keyword phrases (keyword stuffing on the site). Once a user clicks on the link will be automatically redirected to an entirely different site.
Invisible Text - Using text that is not visible to the human eye (with the text the same color as the background color). The invisible text usually contain a large number of keywords (keyword stuffing).
Farm Links - Join the community web sites that provide large amounts of irrelevant links to your website.
Together with other forms of spam, these techniques should be avoided at all costs. If you are unsure if your site uses some form of spam, then it would be best to contact a specialist search engine optimization before it could result in your website blacklisted.
Past customers who were using some form of spam and were not aware of it, had taken a big loss having their site to be blacklisted in some search engines. The road to recovery may take a long time and is one that you would like to follow. Be careful! ...
