3 Myths Debunked Internet traffic
The big question for all website owners and internet marketing is always about generating traffic. Over the last two months there have been some great products launched around this very topic, and consequently there are a lot of myths circulating about traffic generation.
This article is to dispel those myths and be careful not to fall into these traps.
Even if you think you know all about generating traffic, remind yourself of these myths is a good refresher.
Myth 1 - The traffic is traffic is traffic is traffic
Now, get this out of my head! Nothing could be further from the truth. And if they've been around long enough marketing you probably have learned firsthand that all traffic is NOT created equal.
You may have even bought a huge amount of traffic and not closed a single sale. This is because not all the traffic is the same.
Essentially there are two types of traffic ... targeted and untargeted.
Targeted traffic
This traffic consists of people who are specifically looking for the type of information you provide or product you're selling it. This type of traffic is prequalified and type of traffic you are looking for.
Non-Targeted Traffic
This traffic is just people being sent or coming to your site through some sort of incentive program. Ie) is paid or given credit to click on a link and visit your site. 99% of the time, these people have no interest at all in what you are selling. At least, there is no way to know if they are interested since they were essentially bribed to visit your site first.
So, what kind of traffic you want? Right ....
Myth 2 - You can get all the traffic from a single source
In reality, nothing could be further from the truth. There is only one form of advertising or traffic generation is going to get millions of visitors to your site. Even if you rely on something like Google AdWords, you're still only going to be about 50% of users on the Internet.
The key is to spread as much as possible and leave your tracks in all places of destination the user is likely to visit.
Incorporate as many strategies for generating traffic as you can in your traffic plan.
Myth 3 - Traffic Generation Free does not work
Now, this is the worst myth of all. Many people think that there is no reason to spend time working on generating traffic because it is simple, does not work.
In reality, nothing could be further from the truth. Traffic Generation work at all! In fact, I earn about 60% of my income from the free traffic methods. Similar methods, using safe lists, message boards and forums, article marketing, and traffic exchanges.
In fact, if you know how to take advantage of these methods can only earn a serious income from them .......
