Doing Business in China
China is the fastest growing one great nation with an average annual GDP growth of at least 10%. In 2007, China was ranked first by the current account balance of $ 262.2 billion dollars (9% of GDP).
China's rapid development of its economy is not a threat to any other country, but an important opportunity for other countries to come to China and expand their markets and expose international level. The globalization of China is becoming "the place to be" for exposure to multinational corporations and organizations.
The Chinese business culture is very unique. Chinese like to talk about "guanxi" (relationships), and "mian-zi" (to give a face).
or "Guanxi" means relationship, any form of relationship. Once "guanxi" is established, means a constant co-operation and the media is exchanged with one another. Basically, you go for the exchange of favors on a regular basis. The Chinese believe that knowing how to do the right "guanxi", minimizes the risks, frustrations and disappointments of doing business in China.
or "Mianzi" means to face. If you "give face" to someone, you respect that person, and you will do anything to embarrass them. If you do not "give face" means that do not respect them, then, should no longer be any association with you. It can be as absurd as not to accept a cigarette, which means "give face" and therefore do not respect them.
The developing relationships (Guanxi)
After developing a mutual relationship and cooperation with a Chinese businessman, literally support each other. "Guanxi" and "mianzi" are very important in China, not only with the networking and doing business, but also in everyday life. RPS Studio can help you establish and open your "guanxi" in China, as well as teach the moral of "mianzi", and various aspects of doing business in China.
Basic knowledge of Mandarin Chinese
When doing business in China, foreigners often encounter the same problems over and over again. The language barrier between English and Mandarin Chinese are completely different. Even if you hire a translator, it would be better if you have some knowledge of Chinese language to ensure that the translator is translating at least what you are really trying to say? Therefore, it is really recommended that those doing business in China, have at least a basic knowledge of Mandarin Chinese language.
China Business Protocol
With regard to business ethics, men or women should not wear bright clothes (for the Chinese seem very inappropriate), and must develop good "guanxi" and give a lot of "mianzi" to show trust, appreciation, honor, and cooperation .
