06/05/2011 Today's photo "looks are deceiving"

Indeed, appearances are deceiving. In a world ruled by aesthetics, prejudices and urban legends, I'd like to break a lance in favor of this, in our country, minority sport. I am convinced that if many parents know in depth their values, would abandon the dreams of multimillion dollar contracts for their children and enroll in one of rugby teams in their cities. Unjustly ill-famed, is a contact sport, indeed, but where it is conceived, among many others, the word discrimination. Fifteen players jump into the field. Tall, short, fat, skinny, fast and slow, all have a mission on the lawn. Humility, friendship, commitment, motivation, perseverance and friendship, are just some of the fundamental values that are inculcated in this discipline. In rugby, dubious moves are repeated on a giant screen from different angles, to ensure the fairness of arbitration decisions, thereby avoiding stupid suspicions about the honesty of either opponent. In rugby, a referee's word, not is questionable, even when wrong. The player is simply removed and continues to struggle in the field. Rugby is, above all, teamwork. A team that utilizes exertion and strategy in equal measure.

It is a sport in which injuries are not fake. Where the contest ends at the moment the whistle blows. The hobbies that live before, during and after the game. It's a game, with two parts sporting contest and a third time when both teams, they say, eat and drink with their own harmony, a group of friends. Not for nothing is known as a tough sport, played by gentlemen.
